This is so true yet there are few people that see it. I have now stepped far enough outside this system after taking a gap year that I see it everywhere. The steps recorded, the hours slept, calories consumed, memories posted....the joy is sucked out of most people's lives and they don't even realize what is happening. Does anyone do anything for fun anymore??????Loved your commentary!

Thank you SO much! And....exactly! Most don't see it - it is a sneaky subconscious program that keeps running in the background...grrrrr. For those of us that have eyes though, once you see it, you can't unsee it. Awesome that you have!!

Sherry, I loved this! I have felt that very same push & pull. There's so much behind the culture of "workaholism", and it was a pleasure to read your poetic words weaving through it! What a gift you have.

What I've learned about these patterns is to be gentle and compassionate with myself. When I was little, I believed productivity and achievement kept me safe and loved/accepted, so it was a necessary adaptation; it helped me to survive. Now, I need and want to make different choices, but the choice to let go of productivity feels dangerous to my nervous system...so the cycle continues. I'm trying to love and be grateful for the parts of me that struggle to break these reactive patterns as they're still trying to keep me safe, even though they're not necessary any more. It's taking time, patience, awareness + absolute determination not to berate or abandon myself when I fall back into old patterns. It's so difficult, but I'm keeping going 💗 Karen

Hi Karen! What a lovely, honest and heartfelt share. Thank you! And.....I totally hear you. SO much of our upbringing, environment, culture and literal existence is measured and assessed and judged around what we can produce and how much we can achieve. It is rewriting and rewiring an entire paradigm and of course as you know that is done one step at a time to unwind that deeply embedded programming - in our nervous system. Remembering - above all else - it is NOTHING but an illusion! Lots of love on your journey!

Real talk! The loop of productivity can be real! Especially for the feminine and how we are sold the hustle culture when our nervous systems aren’t meant to operate on that frequency.

The photo of the fairies is the absolute magic! ✨🧚🏻

Ah the fairies...you felt it too!!! Awesome! And yes, indeed it is woven into our very culture and we not here to be human doings - we are here to be human beings! ;)

It is indeed a spell, a program installed in much of the world.

Moving outside of the US, and having an amazing spiritual teacher allowed me to see this pattern and re-program myself.

There is no good, bad, right, wrong...only source, intention, response, experience.
